Also this year most of the WACKEN festival area will be covered by Wi-Fi hotspots saving the non german crowd a lot of money on the smart phone bill, and of cause all iPads and laptops can join as well.  8 euros and you are wireless via Wi-Fi the whole festival until sometime sunday. This is the official message from your WACKEN team:

Also this year we offer WLAN (Wi-Fi) for every festival visitor.
WLAN tickets are available at all W:O:A supermarkets, info office and merchandise booths.
The tickets will cost 8€ and are valid from Wednesday to Sunday.

What you need:
WLAN CAPABLE END DEVICE
(Notebook, IPhone, etc.)
1. Activate WLAN, Then scan and connect to the strongest W:O:A Hotspot
2. Set IP-Addres and DNS Server to “Automatic” (DHCP)
3. Open Browser
4. W:O:A Login Comes Up
5. Enter Username and Password, ready

Reception (IMPORTANT)
… is available everywhere in perimeter of the W:O:A WLAN Hotspots marked on the Campingsite-Plan. On the camping-site you can recognize them by the WLAN Hotspot Sign/Banner.

Do not forget to search iTunes app-store for the WACKEN 2011 app.

The new WACKEN 2011 mobile app has arrived. Download it from the iTunes app store. This year the app has been improved in many ways. A whole new layout, a lot of use by GPS to use for area navigation and location of specific events during the four days. Please note GPS and Facebook functions will be added in an update very soon.

First menu tap is an overview of last news updates known form wacken.com. Second menu Event shows all activities with dates, time and stage.

Tap the Wacken skull and make a band or event your favorite. Tap the favorites sub menu and a collections of all favs appere. Tap the location icon besides the band name and the location screen for stage location appears. You can also sort bands by choosing a specific stage and get date and time for only this part.

In the Map menu GPS will show your location, awesome stuff to use when the tent late at night have to be found. Location tagging, alerts, push info and Facebook integration incl following updates.

Need some light along the way or in the tent, the app gives you a cool white logo screen that gives you the right glow in the dark. You can also switch to a “real” camp fire.

Last menu Info is a great collection of all need to know stuff.

No doubt this is a great app already, and with future updates it can only get even better.

17-18 June second COPENHELL metal festival took place in the industrial surroundings of Refshaleøen, Copenhagen, Denmark.

More bands, bigger crowd and better weather exceeded  2010. For sure the festival will return in 2012 and again open the gates to Copenhell.

The band list is total, the program is set and all we have to do is wait another two weeks for the second COPENHELL metal festival to explode. Located in Copenhagen Denmark and arranged by Live Nation the festival feat. bands like

JUDAS PRIEST, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, GWAR, OPETH, MAYHEM, OPETH, ANVIL, KORN, DEICIDE and MORBID ANGEL to name a few.

3 stages, 24 bands, biergarden with Heavy Dj´s, tablefootball and special fire performance by BURN BITCH BURN. Because of the industrial concrete area there is no free camping. The tents are set up on the concrete ground and ready to use. You have to buy a separate ticket for this and incl. 12 free Copenhell strong brew, two free morning meals and the super cool tent is yours after the festival. Copenhell is close to Cph. city hotels and special bus transportation arranged.
